Synopsis: Set on a planet where the sky is blocked by space trash and aliens attack, Spensa dreams of being a pilot. However, her father was branded as a coward, which makes the already difficult task of being a pilot even harder. Along her journey, she meets new friends and learns some hard and unexpected truths about her father and the planet they inhabit.

i finally read this book and i just thought it was fine. i can't tell if it's the book's fault, or if i really am striking out on all YA sequels i'm reading lately. this book felt a little boring and also i felt like it kept going back on the things it has hinted at since the first book. i do think i still want read the last book when it comes out to see how this wraps up and i do enjoy the vibes of the magic and setting.
spring colors! 🌸🌻🌷🌼
i was a little concerned this book would not live up to all the hype....BUT OMG I LOVED IT!! seriously, i can see myself rereading this book when i just need some wholesome cuteness! i loved everything about it and i'm so glad i finally got to reading it!!
i was going to write a full review of this book....but i can't. i don't have much to say other than i just didn't like it πŸ™Š the synopsis sounded way different than the first book, but the structure felt the same. i don't know if that style of story telling is just how le guin wrote or if it was just how fantasy was written then, but it doesn't work for me and i won't be reading more of the series.
these are the oldest books on my tbr! (by publication) which aren't actually that old in the grand scheme of things πŸ˜‚ i'm actually surprised that i enjoyed assassin's apprentice enough to read the sequel, because the age of it was what made me initially skeptical. i appreciate straightforward writing and i generally don't find that in older fantasy
this book was so good! i really can't think of anything i didn't like about it, other than the fact that certain parts made my a little sad πŸ˜‚ i'm so excited to see what happens in the next books because this book was so intriguing. full review on my blog!
