I thought it would be fun to make a list of every series I’m reading! It actually was quite informative: I’m reading three series with backlist books, and 20 series that I am waiting for more books to be published. I was afraid that both of these numbers would be way higher, but at the same time, I didn’t realize that I was in the middle of that many series.
Series That Have Books Out That I Need to Catch Up On/Finish
The Wayfarer’s series by Becky Chambers
I have read the first and second books in this series and absolutely loved them! I have ordered the third, but I know there is a planned fourth book as well.
The Arcadia Project by Mishell Baker
I believe there are just three books in this series. I read the first one for a book club and enjoyed it enough to be interested in reading more!
Stillhouse Lake series by Rachel Caine
I just read this first book this month, but I had a good enough time with it that I will give the next one a shot. I think there are four books out so far, so we’ll see if I get that far in the series.
Series That I Am Waiting For More Books To Be Released
Gumiho by Kat Cho
I’m not sure if this one is going to be more than just two books, but the second book comes out next month! I really enjoyed the folklore aspect of this book!
The Empirium Trilogy by Claire Legrand
The last book in this trilogy is set to come out in the fall, and I’m really excited! This series has it’s issues, but it is just so entertaining.
Girls of Paper and Fire trilogy by Natasha Ngan
I really enjoyed the first book, but the second wasn’t what I was expecting. I’m hoping the last book wraps up well!
Bring Me Their Hearts trilogy by Sara Wolf
This series is pure entertainment for me! I thoroughly enjoyed the first two, so I’m very excited for the conclusion.
Serpent & Dove series by Shelby Mahurin
This is one of many that I’m not sure if it will just be two books, but I am looking forward to the sequel.
The Rise of Kyoshi series by F.C. Yee
I love Avatar: The Last Airbender and I love Kyoshi, so obviously I am going to continue this series! The sequel actually came out this week, so I’m a big lair by putting it on this part of the list, but bear with me.
Crier’s War duology by Nina Varela
This first book was a super cool mix of sci-fi and fantasy, plus it had a great sapphic romance, so I will definitely be reading the sequel when it comes out this fall!
The Camelot Rising trilogy by Kiersten White
I feel like I haven’t read a good King Arthur retelling in a while, and this one definitely satisfied that, especially since it is from Guinevere’s point of view and had a ton of cool magic in it. I believe the second book comes out this fall/winter.
The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson
This will be on my life of current series for a looong time to come, I think. The third book wasn’t my favorite, but I am very much looking forward to the next book!
Green Rider series by Kristen Britain
Six books in and I still love this series! I started if after the last one came out, but the wait for the next one has still been brutal.
Crescent City by Sarah J. Maas
I’m definitely going to have to give this first book another read before reading anything else in this series because I struggled with the worldbuilding, but SJM’s stories just pull me in.
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
I actually never thought this would be on the list! I hated the first 200 pages of this book, but by the end, I really enjoyed it. I’m definitely curious about what will happen going forward.
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
It’s weird to even call this a series because the continuation feels like just more stories in the same universe…either way, I’m in.
Skyward by Brandon Sanderson
Book 3 of this series has some catching up to do, since I didn’t absolutely love where book 2 went, but I trust Brandon Sanderson.
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
This series makes me so emotional! The final book, coming out at the end of the year, is going to ruin me. I just want the characters to have a happy ending!
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
I didn’t expect this to be a series or to like it…but I was wrong! I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books and I am very excited about more!
Mistborn: Wax and Wayne by Brandon Sanderson
This series is a little bit of a blur to me, but I am definitely looking forward to a conclusion!
Girl Meets Duke series by Tessa Dare
This series is a masterpiece and I’m so sad that the last book got pushed back! Seriously, these books have everything I want in romance books.
King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo
I am interested in the sequel mostly because I am curious what will happen and I’m invested in the Grishaverse.
The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson
Again, I’m mostly curious what will happen in the sequel. I didn’t love this first book, but it did end with some interesting ideas.
How many series are you in the middle of right now?
