Happy Thursday! I’m caught up on reviews and I have a few posts planned that I want to think about more before writing, so I figured I would do a tag today! I first saw this on Genie in a Novel and it was created by The Perpetual Page Turner. I wasn’t tagged by anyone, but this seemed fun.
AUTHOR YOU’VE READ THE MOST BOOKS FROM:
This is a tie! 14 each for Sarah J. Maas and Brandon Sanderson, though I am reading Oathbringer right now, so when I finish this answer will change.
BEST SEQUEL EVER:
Maybe not best ever, but A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas.
CURRENTLY READING:
Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson! Also, I’m listening to Wicked and the Wallflower by Sarah MacLean.
DRINK OF CHOICE WHILE READING:
Water or Pepsi Zero lol
E-READER OR PHYSICAL BOOK?
PHYSICAL. I don’t have an ereader, but I do have the Kindle app on my phone and I always forget I have books on there. Out of sight, out of mind.
FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU PROBABLY WOULD HAVE ACTUALLY DATED IN HIGH SCHOOL:
Kai from The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer!! I love him. There’s definitely more, but he was the first that came to mind.
GLAD YOU GAVE THIS BOOK A CHANCE:
The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare! I don’t even remember what made me give this book a try because I’d never read historical romance before, but oh man, I’m such a fan now! I haven’t read too much more historical romance, but it’s definitely a genre I’m excited to explore.
HIDDEN GEM BOOK:
The Green Rider series by Kristen Britain! It definitely has some loyal fans, but I love the series so much.
IMPORTANT MOMENT IN YOUR READING LIFE:
When my mom introduced me to Harry Potter! She’s not a big reader, but she read at least the first book to me. This definitely made me a lifelong fan of reading and of fantasy.
JUST FINISHED:
Deeplight by Frances Hardinge! I really wasn’t sure if I was ever going to finish it lol
KINDS OF BOOKS YOU WON’T READ:
I don’t think there is anything I absolutely won’t read, though I definitely have content that I don’t want to read about, like sexual assault, war, and other generally dark things.
LONGEST BOOK YOU’VE READ:
As of right now, Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson, at 1,087 pages, but again, after I finish Oathbringer, this answer will change. (it is 1,243 pages)
MAJOR BOOK HANGOVER BECAUSE OF:
Books don’t normally give me book hangovers…if I read a really good book, it makes me excited to read more good books. IRL stuff is what impacts my reading the most.
NUMBER OF BOOKCASES YOU OWN:
3-ish.
ONE BOOK YOU HAVE READ MULTIPLE TIMES:
The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale!
PREFERRED PLACE TO READ:
Anywhere, really. As long as it’s comfortable and semi-quiet.
QUOTE THAT INSPIRES YOU/GIVES YOU ALL THE FEELS FROM A BOOK YOU’VE READ:
“I like him better than I’ve ever liked anyone and that of all the things he’s ever done to me, making me like him so much is by far the worst.” – The Wicked King by Holly Black
This quote just makes me feel things, okay.
READING REGRET:
Not reading in college. I had to read so many scientific papers and stuff that I just didn’t have the energy to read more, so instead I turned to stuff like KDramas and anime (it’s funny that I didn’t want to read, but then I turn to two things that I need to read subtitles to understand…that’s sound logic lol)
SERIES YOU STARTED AND NEED TO FINISH (ALL BOOKS ARE OUT IN SERIES):
The Rebel of the Sands series by Alwyn Hamilton and The Arcadia Project by Mishell Baker. I’m pretty sure those are both finished series. I think that is it though! Ongoing series is another story…
THREE OF YOUR ALL-TIME FAVORITE BOOKS:
- The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale
- The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson
- A Sky Painted Gold by Laura Wood
UNAPOLOGETIC FANGIRL FOR:
Throne of Glass. I totally understand that it’s not for everyone and I recognize the parts of it that are problematic, but damn, I love it!
VERY EXCITED FOR THIS RELEASE MORE THAN ALL THE OTHERS:
I can’t pick just one, so have a few: Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust, The Empire of Gold by S.A. Chakraborty, and A Sky Beyond the Storm by Sabaa Tahir.
WORST BOOKISH HABIT:
Flipping through and spotting key words that might give away what happens 👀
X MARKS THE SPOT: START AT THE TOP LEFT OF YOUR SHELF AND PICK THE 27TH BOOK:
It’s Cinder by Marissa Meyer!
YOUR LATEST BOOK PURCHASE:
I ordered A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson, and Under a Dancing Star by Laura Wood from Book Depository last week, so they should be here eventually!
ZZZ-SNATCHER BOOK (LAST BOOK THAT KEPT YOU UP WAY LATE):
I think it was Harley in the Sky by Akemi Dawn Bowman! I tend not to read super late at night anymore, so if this one didn’t actually keep me up, it did in spirit lol
Hope you all are having a wonderful week and are staying safe!
